This is a hands on practical course with in-depth training and practical assessments to meet legal requirements for excavating in the highway.
Who’s the course for?
This course is for supervisors who are responsible for operatives carrying out excavation, backfill and reinstatement duties on the highway.
Course Aims and Objectives
The course provides delegates with the skills and knowledge to perform Supervisor duties to the standards laid down by the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991. On successful completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate and Scotvec Card.
Unit 001 – Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
Unit 010 – Monitoring signing, lighting and guarding
Unit 011 – Monitoring excavation in the road/highway
Unit 012 – Monitoring reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
Unit 013 – Motoring reinstatement of sub-base and road-base in non-bituminous materials
Unit 014 – Monitoring reinstatement of bituminous materials
Unit 016 – Monitoring reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways
All delegates should bring with them the following P.P.E: Safety shoes/boots, Workwear, Gloves, Hi Vis coat or vest, Hard Hat.
