A manual handling operation may be defined as “any transporting or supporting of a load (including the lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving thereof) by hand or by bodily force”. Approximately one third of all injuries reported to the enforcing authorities are due to incorrect manual handling.

Staff who need basic practical and experience of Manual Handling and lifting techniques.
Course Aims and Objectives
To ensure staff have a good understanding of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations and the ergonomic principles that should be applied to reduce the risk of manual handling injuries.

The course includes:
• Health & Safety Law
• Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
• The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
• The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
• The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
• Manual Handling Operations Regulations
Course Duration – ½ Day
Certification
An In House Certificate will be issued on completion and payment of the course.
Cost – £450.00 + VAT per course up to 12 candidates
