This course is designed for operatives, managers and supervisors who use, or oversee the use of, a counterbalance lift truck.

Aims & Objectives
The aim of this course is to thoroughly train delegates in the safe and efficient use of a counterbalance lift truck. It covers in detail the stability of the truck and causes of instability, along with the correct methods of use in different applications.

The Counterbalance FLT Training course covers the following:

  • Legislation and regulations regarding health and safety and the use of lifting equipment
  • Accidents and associated risks
  • Introduction to the equipment
  • Understanding hydraulics
  • Rated capacity and load centres
  • Stability and instability factors
  • Driving on inclines
  • Pallet and load assessment
  • Attachments
  • Vehicle loading and unloading
  • Battery care and maintenance or refueling
  • Use of seatbelts
  • Pre-use checks and defect reporting
  • Full practical training

Course Delivery
This course is delivered through a combination of classroom based tutorials and practical activities.

Delegate Eligibility/Entry Requirements
It is important that all delegates have a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Course Duration – 3-5 Days

C&G Assessments & Training Ltd accredited certificate or NPORS Card/Certificate.

Additional Information
If NPORS accreditation is required delegates will need to provide a passport photograph at the start of the course. NPORS registration is £27.50 per person.
A safe area of work for training to take place is required, as well as an appropriate lift truck in sound mechanical condition and suitable loads to use during training.
