Construction Plant Certification Scheme (CPCS) card proves that you are competent in operation of the vehicles you use and have health and safety awareness. Most contractors and clients now demand proof of competence, before allowing workers onto their sites, which is provided by a CPCS card, not having a CPCS card may affect your ability to work on Major Contractor’s sites.
This course is designed for Supervisors and Slinger Signallers who will be supervising lifting operations.
Since the early 1990’s the Major Contractors Group (now known as the UK Contractors Group) have been asking for their and their supply chain employees for proof of competence before allowing them access to site. This has been, in the majority of cases, individual ownership of a CPCS card. It was quickly identified that much of the very experienced workforce could be lost to the industry as many of them had picked up their skills over many years, without the need for a qualification!
The NPORS Operator Card is a record of training/assessment an individual has undertaken to prove their ability to safely operate or drive an item of plant machinery or equipment. NPORS was formed in 1992, they have accredited over 1000 Instructors and Training Providers who operate on National and International projects. NPORS has over 180,000 registered Operators working within the following sectors; Construction, Industrial, Utilities, Warehousing and Distribution, Agricultural, Ports and Marine.
