Construction Plant Certification Scheme (CPCS) card proves that you are competent in operation of the vehicles you use and have health and safety awareness. Most contractors and clients now demand proof of competence, before allowing workers onto their sites, which is provided by a CPCS card, not having a CPCS card may affect your ability to work on Major Contractor’s sites.
This course is designed for Supervisors and Slinger Signallers who will be supervising lifting operations.
Since the early 1990’s the Major Contractors Group (now known as the UK Contractors Group) have been asking for their and their supply chain employees for proof of competence before allowing them access to site. This has been, in the majority of cases, individual ownership of a CPCS card. It was quickly identified that much of the very experienced workforce could be lost to the industry as many of them had picked up their skills over many years, without the need for a qualification!
